In honor of National Volunteer Week, the MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center wants to recognize our volunteers who lend their time to help our patients and families. Our volunteers have personal or family experience with cancer. They understand the importance of having the comfort, hope, support and education needed before, during and after treatment.

Without the help from a special group of dedicated volunteers, our ProtonPals support group would not be possible. We would like to thank and recognize these compassionate individuals for the impact they have made in the lives of our patients.

A special thank you to our current ProtonPal volunteers:

  • Fred and Judy Duncan
  • Curtis Courington and Judy Johnston
  • Bob and Sharon Livitz

Each week, they graciously host the lunches and dinners for our patients, family members and caregivers. They work together to find ways to improve the patient experience at the Proton Therapy Center.

“Co-hosting the ProtonPals weekly events is our opportunity to pay back and to pay it forward,” Judy Johnston and Curtis Courington shared.

We want to thank each one of you for helping us in our mission to end cancer. Without your help, we would not be able to help others.
